A Bale Grapple, also known as a bale clamp, is an attachment mounted on a telescopic handler, tractor, or other loader to handle round and square bales. Bala Agri has been manufacturing bale clamps since 1983 and offers 10 models in two frame sizes: frame 140 for bale sizes of 50–140 cm and frame 180 for bale sizes of 70–180 cm.
Our bale grabs come with a standard agricultural coupling that includes an overflow valve and a check valve. This ensures that the grab won't crush or drop your bale.

How do you choose the right Bale Grapple?
Choosing the right Bale Grapple on several key factors, such as the type of bales you handle, the machine you use, and the attachment that fits your equipment. Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your choice:
If you work in tight or confined spaces, it is important to choose a Bale Grapple flexible, narrow grapple arms. This is especially true for machines with an L30 attachment, as it provides better maneuverability and efficiency.
If you mainly work with round bales, a round bale grab is the best choice, while square bale grabs are more suitable for square bales. For tractors with Trima or Euro attachments, there are many customized options for both bale types.
Larger machines, such as a wheel loader with large BM attachments, often require more powerful bale grapples capable of handling heavier loads. Smaller machines, such as telehandlers, need a more agile and compact Bale Grapple instead.
Ball Size and Frame Size
The bale size determines which frame can be used. Frame 140 is used for bale sizes of 50–140 cm, and Frame 180 is used for bale sizes of 70–180 cm.
If you handle bales between 50 and 70 cm, frame 140 is the frame that covers that range.
If you're handling bales over 140 cm, you'll need frame 180.
Fastening
The mounting bracket must match the one installed on the loader. Bala Agri offers bale grapples for SMS/Trima, Euro, Stora BM, and Ålö Type 3, as well as models without a mounting bracket. Models without a mounting bracket are available as HG60 (frame 140) and HG70 (frame 180).
Dead weight
The curb weight varies between models. The 140 frame weighs 164–197 kg, and the 180 frame weighs 185–217 kg. The HG60 (140 frame) is the lightest model in the 140 frame series, weighing 164 kg. The HG70 (180 frame) is the lightest model in the 180 frame series, weighing 185 kg.
Balance Weight
A maximum bale weight of 1,500 kg applies to all bale grippers.

To ensure that the bale grapple does not drop or crush the bales during use, the grippers feature an overflow valve and a check valve. The grapple is also not bent, which means you get more contact surface with the bale and can therefore work efficiently even in tight spaces. The design gives you more contact surface with the bale, allowing you to maneuver easily even when you have bales on the sides.

Ålö type 3
Bala Agri’s bale clamps for the Ålö Type 3 are available for bale sizes ranging from 50–140 cm and 70–180 cm. They come standard with a pilot-operated check valve and an overflow valve.
Euro
Bala Agri's bale clamps with Euro mounts are available in two sizes, with maximum widths of 140 cm and 180 cm, respectively. The maximum bale weight is 1,500 kg.
SMS / Trima
Bala Agri's bale clamps with SMS/Trima mounts are available for bale sizes ranging from 50 to 140 cm and 70 to 180 cm and come with the same standard equipment as the other models.
Large BM
Bala Agri's bale clamps with the Stora BM attachment are available in two sizes and have a maximum weight capacity of 1,500 kg.
